Martini Glasses That Seem to Instantly Draw One Into a Party Mood
Who doesn’t know the classy look of the Martini glasses that seem to instantly draw one into a party mood? The cone-shaped bowls with a high stem, the ninety degree angle in the shape of the Martini glasses place them in the top of the most refined and enjoyed glassware in the world. There is a special way of serving wine in these type of glasses; since much of the properties of a drink rely on the temperature, the high stem of the Martini glasses allows the drinker to hold them without affecting the ice-coolness of the beverage. The almost cliché image of Martini served with a green olive inside has definitely added up to the popularity of the drink and the glassware as well.
There are several variations of Martini glasses worth mentioning here: there is the double martini glass that is wider and taller than the regular one, and the stub glass. The latter variation of Martini glasses preserves the shape of the bowl but lacks the long stem from the structure as the base is directly attached to the cone. Such glassware is used to replace the regular model for very informal occasions or in order to avoid the easy breakage of some valuable Martini glasses. Moreover, Martini stubs work great when one needs to serve drinks other than Martini.
Presently, many people use Martini glasses to serve cocktails, champagne, eggnog, but don’t be too surprised if are invited to have a sorbet or a desert out of them. It is considered pretty cool to use these type of glassware for side dishes, as Martini glasses are seen as mood enhancers for very many parties, whether formal or informal. Other unusual usages given to the Martini glasses have nothing to do with serving food or drinks. Such elegant glassware meets certain decoration needs and can easily function as candle support.
Candy dishes can also be successfully improvised from Martini glasses, they look good, and allow for all color combinations. Other unusual ways of dealing with glassware is in plant growing and desk decorations. Cacti, violets, fresh flowers, scented petals and even shells can be used in combination with Martini glasses for very clever and appealing designs of the window sill or a house corner that needs a small touch of color. Consequently, though there is a long way from the famous New York drink glassware to artistic decorations that rely on Martini glasses, imagination seems to be setting the rules of the game.
